We took a shine to Mika Mobile's adorable action-RPG Battleheart when it marched onto iOS a couple of years back. Its blend of real-time combat and polished 2D visuals coupled with an impressive skill system helped it win the heart of our reviewer, and the approval of a decent number of mobile RPG fans.
It shouldn't surprise you to learn that the dev team responsible hasn't been sitting on its collective hands for the past 24 months. Allow us to introduce you to Battleheart Legacy, the "spiritual successor to Battleheart:
The trailer above is our first glimpse of Battleheart Legacy in action. As you can see, the series has had a major graphical overhaul, and is now sporting new (but equally cute) 3D visuals.
We don't have a firm release date yet, but we do know that the developer is hoping to launch the game early next year.
Though Battleheart Legacy is still in development, we are seriously impressed with the series' new look, which seems to fall somewhere between Final Fantasy VII and the LEGO series.
We look forward to putting Battleheart Legacy through it paces in 2014. In the meantime, check out our review of Battleheart below.
