Hidden object games often get dismissed by players. They seem to be repetitive, and don't offer much action. In a way, a lot of the criticisms levelled at them are similar to the problems a lot of players have towards adventure games, which is a genre I have quite a fondness for.
Morphopolis is a bit of a different experience, even in the hidden object genre. It's a tale about a bunch of insects in a garden, and the combination of those lush visuals and relaxing melodies create a space I would be very happy to visit. Have a look at the trailer and see for yourselves...
Speaking of adventure games, it sort of gives off a Botanicula vibe, but without the humour and strange bug creatures. There are puzzles alongside searching for hidden objects, and the whole experience will set you back about $3.99. It's out on the App Store now. I might just give it a look.
