Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is hitting the UK and US App Stores tonight.
Rockstar's ultra-ambitious first visit to San Andreas was the biggest GTA game ever to be released when it was released on the PS2 back in 2004.
The gangstar epic follows the story of CJ, a streetwise kid who returns to Los Santos following the death of his mother. Naturally, as this is a GTA game, it isn't long before the grieving process ends and the bullets start flying.
The iOS version, which will run on both iPhone and iPad, has been smoothed and improved for those unforgiving retina displays. Enhancements include remastered HD graphics, better lighting, and real time shadows and reflections.
You'll also get to pick between three different control schemes, and even create your own setup if you choose. Plus, if you've got one of those new iOS physical controllers, you can dispense with the touchscreen controls altogether.
You can download Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas from midnight tonight. It'll cost £4.99 / $6.99, and will be compatible with the iPhone 4S and upward, the iPad 2 and upward, the iPad mini and mini 2, and the iPod 5th gen.
