Today in 1314 the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar, Jacques de Molay, died. 700 years later, Revolution has decided to put both of its Broken Sword adventure games on sale for 69p / 99c to commemerate the occasion.
If you've played any of the Broken Sword games before, this unusual tribute does make some sense. Though set in modern-day Paris, the point-and-click adventure game series draws heavily on the history and mythos surround the Knights Templar.
The first of the two titles, Broken Sword: Director's Cut, is an extended version of the classic adventure game. The Director’s Cut adds new scenes to protagonist George Stobbart's tale of mystery, murder, and intrigue, while also making great use of the iOS touch screen.
Though the second title, Broken Sword - The Smoking Mirror: Remastered, may not be quite as polished as the first game, it is still a solid adventure game.
Currently available for 69p / 99c each (down from £2.49 / $3.99), we'd recommend both Broken Sword titles to adventure game fans.
