Having been soft-launched in selected territories a number of weeks ago, World of Tanks Blitz is now available in App Stores everywhere.
If you're not familiar, World of Tanks Blitz is Wargaming’s iOS interpretation of its incredibly popular PC and Xbox free-to-play MMO World of Tanks.
However, this seven-on-seven tank combat game is not a straight port of the original series. Wargaming has created it from the ground up for touchscreen, and optimised the historically-inspired military battles mobile online play.
Though it is free-to-play, World of Tanks Blitz doesn't feature timers or energy systems. Instead, in-app purchases allow you to buy and upgrade the game's selection of 90 warmachines. This lets you play as much as you want to grind for extra currency, or invest in IAPs to more quickly tool up your tank.
Our hands-on experiences with the game have been very promising, and we've had a surprising amount of fun blasting anonymous internet strangers and pimping out our Panzers.
World of Tanks Blitz is free on iPhone and iPad now. Give it a shot - it might surprise you.
