One of Koei Tecmo's official sites has unveiled Dynasty Warriors Blast for iPhone, iPad, and Android, and it's coming out this July in Japan.

The official announcement on Koei Tecmo's website refers to the game being based on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title Dynasty Warriors 7, and indeed the screens so far suggest an intense action game similar to the console outings.

But it's likely there will also be some significant differences between the home and mobile platforms too, and there are even vague hints that you will see the various warlords - many of which have starred in the series since 1997 - in a completely new way throughout the campaign.

Premium characters will be available for purchase in Dynasty Warriors Blast, and will feature different art and abilities from their free counterparts. It also looks like it'll be free-to-play, as the company has already kicked off a pre-registration event.
