Telltale has confirmed that its acclaimed interactive adventure The Walking Dead will return for a third season.

The announcement was made at this year's Comic Con in San Diego, and later shared with the world via the developer's Twitter account.

Given the ongoing success of the zombie-themed series, it's no surprise that Telltale is keen to continue building stories in the world of The Walking Dead.

However, with the team already prepping Tales from the Borderlands and an interactive Game of Thones series for release before 2015, it's going to be a very busy year for the studio.

Unfortunately, there's no word at this time whether Clementine will return in season three, or when the game is expected to be released.

What we do know is that the final episode of season two, titled No Going Back, is due to arrive on iOS soon, so it won't be long before fans are clamouring for more traumatic choices and no-win scenarios.
