In Asdivine Hearts, Zack and Stella are planning to head off to the capital, but before they can get there a higher being takes over their pet cat.
So then Zack and Stella have to head off on an adventure in which they ultimately need to save the world.
To do this they'll explore 2D SNES-ish worlds, enter lots of battles, and I imagine crystals will be involved at some point too.
Which, to be fair, is exactly what you want from a JRPG.
