Featuring a retro vibe that takes players back to the good ol' days of the '80s, Animal Bar: Stockroom Scramble is out now on iOS and Android. Playful Fox Games' arcade title is a spin-off of its upcoming Animal Bar game, and lets players enjoy the feeling of "unboxing" an LCD handheld game, complete with pack-in sales pamphlets to round out all the nostalgia.
Animal Bar: Stockroom Scramble offers players the chance to up their game by managing their beverage bar's stockroom from Animal Bar. They can keep the stockroom organised across Classic, Arcade and Hardcore variations, as well as two game modes (Game A and Game B). The title also features monophonic piezo-speaker-like sounds and even some little nods to retro handhelds such as the ACL (Auto-Clear) button.
"Like a hardware manufacturer would, our team did research on multiple LCD handhelds such as the famous Nintendo Game & Watch games, the Mattel Electronics games, the later Tiger Electronics games, and various clone handhelds from the 80s and early 90s. Once we had a good idea of the common features and quirks of these devices, we imagined how one might look if it were made to fit neatly onto a phone screen," says Ryan Dunnison, founder of Playful Fox Games.
If you're eager to turn back time and drown in a little nostalgia, Animal Bar: Stockroom Scramble is now available to download on the iOS App Store and on the Google Play Store for Android devices. It's a premium title that you can get for the cost of a large coffee.
