Building Build Review
PROS
- Fun sound feature of increasing tempo as levels get harder.
- Simple and easy to use controls.
CONS
- Gameplay is far too easy, even on hard difficulty.
- The scoring system lacks variety; you will get a similar score depending on how many blocks you’ve stacked with minor variation.
- No iPod music options available.
VERDICT
It would be great to see some of Building Builds issues addressed with an update, but until then, this game is not worth the current price.

Building Build is a quick reflex type game where players must successfully stack moving blocks in order to make the tallest building they can. The blocks move across the screen rapidly and soon become faster and smaller in size, making a tall building quite challenging to finish. Your goal is to build the tower successfully and get the highest score you can.
You place blocks by tapping the screen once they are in the position of your choice, and must continue to do so until you the level is complete. You must stack them on top of other blocks in order to continue building. If you miss the supporting blocks, then the level will be over.
The visuals are decent, but nothing amazing. The sound is quite good and music tempo increases as your building gets taller adding tension to the gameplay. Unfortunately, players cannot use their iPod during the game. The game is single player only with no global leaderboard options, but players can view and erase highscores from the menu.
Building Build is one of the simplest games on the iPhone. This is both good and bad. The gameplay and controls work, but the game itself is far too easy, even on the hardest difficulty setting. And the level scores do not vary much when building. Meaning once you finish a level, there’s no need to repeat it for a better highscore. Building Build has some potential, but until some of its issues are addressed, it will be stuck as a ‘one play game’.
