BOGGLE Review
PROS
- The visuals are pleasant.
- The game is easy to play and control.
CONS
- Some of the word combinations are far too obscure (Most people won’t know Zymases is even a real word).
- Jumbled letter sequences are often repeated after a number of games.
- All answers are presented to players at the end of each round.
VERDICT
If you’re a die hard fan of Boggle then you might have some fun here, but otherwise this game is not worth the current price.

Boggle is a port of the well known, word based board game for the iPhone. The gameplay is still the same; players are given a 4x4 square full of jumbled letters and they have to make as many words using those letters. Players are given a time limit and score based on the length of the word.
You construct words by tapping on the letters in sequence and submit them by tapping the final letter again. The words must be 3 or more letters and only adjacent letters can be selected for each word. Words are easy to create and edit, and the simple controls mean anyone can play.
The visuals look quite good and it’s helpful to see the words you have already found. The sound is limited to the click of letters as you select them, but players are free to use their iPod during game play. The game is single player only, with three different game modes; Classic, Advanced and Self Score.
While Boggle has the potential to be a fun version of the board game, certain issues let it down. The biggest issue is that word patterns are repeated after a short time. This along with answers being shown ALL answers after every game means players can just breeze through after a few goes. If you’re a die hard fan of Boggle you might be able to forgive these issues, but for everyone else, it will surely ruin the game for you.
