For those of you who are familiar with the Milton Bradley series of board games, you will have heard of Life; the game where players progress through various stages of life earning money, buying a house, and starting a family in order to retire rich and happy. Well with the release of The Game of Life for the iPhone, players can access this classic board game at the touch of a fingertip.
The gameplay remains the same as the original board game; players must spin a dial to move their piece across a board and receive bonuses or penalties depending on where they land. As mentioned before, your goal is to progress through the board, earning money and going through other family or work related events in order to retire at the end of your life, hopefully rich and happy.
The 3D visuals are well done and help liven up the board and gameplay. The sound is decent but nothing standout. Fortunately players are able to use their iPod during gameplay. The game while consisting of the one main game mode offers both single player and local multiplayer modes.
The Game of Life is another decent addition to Electronic Arts Nederland’s range of classic board games for the iPhone. The game runs smoothly and with two play modes, players will always have someone to verse. If you are a fan of the board game, then you will love this new version for the iPhone.
