Starship Defence is an action game where players command a large space ship and must defend against a fleet of attacking ships. Players use a large laser cannon, missiles and nukes to shoot down enemy ships but can also create and place units in space for added defence. Your goal is to survive as long as possible, while upgrading your weapons and destroying enemy ships.
The game’s controls are very simple. You select your main weapon by tapping the icon on the screen and fire by tapping on the enemy ship. Ship creating requires you to select a ship type and drag it onto the open space. Each ship has different attacks and it’s up to you place them in an effective way.
The game’s visuals are quite detailed and look good. The game’s sound is futuristic and immersive, with the option for players to use their iPod during gameplay. The game is single player only and features one main game mode, but players can submit highscores to the global leaderboards.
Starship Defence is a game that would appeal to fans of Castle Defence games. The strategy elements and constant upgrading make this a fun title to play through. Like most games of this style however, the gameplay can get quite repetitive and players might lose interest after a while. But the constant reloading and shooting elements of the game tends to break this up. All in all, if you feel like a change from the usual style Castle Defence games then give Starship Defence a look.
