Crazy Choppers is an action game where players control an attack helicopter in the middle of a war zone and must fly into battle, shooting enemy vehicles and rescuing POWs. As you fly around, you will use up fuel and have to fill up when low at a helipad. While refuelling, you can also upgrade your chopper with the money earned from destroying tanks and completing other objectives.
You control the helicopter by tilting your iPhone in the direction you want to move. You will also need to fire your machine guns at enemy vehicles by clicking on the rifle button in the bottom right corner, or you can launch missiles by clicking on the missile button in the left corner.
The visuals are presented in full 3D and very detailed. The sound is good, but is a bit of a tease when Wagner’s ‘Flight of the Valkyries’ plays for the first 3 seconds of each level. And unfortunately, players cannot use their iPod during the game, so you’re kind of stuck with no music. This is a single player game with no highscore or leaderboard options.
Crazy Choppers is a great looking action game with some very nice features. The controls are responsive and fluid and the visual presentation is top notch. The only real disappointment is the lack of music options. And by giving us a taste of an epic track to fly into war with, it only makes us crave more. However, this minor issues aside, Crazy Choppers is still a real blast to play.
