The escape the room game become popular on the PC as a host of simple flash games emerged trapping the player in an area with some fiendish puzzles and pixel hunting. The genre made an excellent leap to the iphone platform last year with iEscaper - Escape from the Ninja's Lair, and now the sequel is upon us, titled iEscaper 2 - Escape from the Castle of the Doom. As a ninja, you make your way into the Castle of Doom to obtain the Crystal of Dragon, though finding said crystal and getting out alive can be quite difficult.

Iescaper uses a touch based interface, though sometimes mixes things up with swipes and shaking the device. As time is not of the essence, this works, but the controls are not that responsive. As you travel and explore the world, you can pick up items which will be added to you inventory, and can then be examined, combined with other items or used.

The 3D rendered world of Iescaper is impressive, boasting a lot of detail. As movement is screen by screen, it's very reminiscent of Myst. The sound is minimal, but of a high quality. Once complete, the game does not offer much replay value, but it should take you some time to get through the adventure.

Iescaper 2 is made for gamers with a lot of patience and a knack for critical thinking. The controls may aggravate some, but this is a high polished adventure that will tax your brain if it keeps your interest.
