Low Five Games, who brought us Earth Vs Moon, is back with another offering, and this time they are gonna launch some vikings down your throat! The Horrible Vikings is a catapult game which puts the player in control of a pair of vikings as they loot and pillage the islands of ninjas. How horrible...
The goal is to launch your viking through the air where he will bounce, roll, and butt slam his way along the island's obstacles, until he reaches the princess at the end of the level. Along the way you collect coins, spending your ill gotten gains on the various items and upgrades in the store.
You control your nefarious Nords by dragging one along the deck of the ship to adjust the angle of your shot, then drag the catapult back to launch his companion into the sky. Tilting the iPhone will allow for in-course correction, and swiping down on the screen will perform his patented butt slam, dropping down to smash open crates or ninja skulls.
The graphics are fantastic, being detailed and polished, it is obvious some effort went into the presentation. The sound is also great, with a dramatic music score to keep things entertaining.
There are no restrictions in taking as many shots as you like to complete a level, although those that like to sit at the top of leaderboards will go for as little as possible. There are also many achievements to strive for, extending game life. If you enjoy catapult games, this is one of the best.
