Animal Kingdom is a puzzle game where players take control of 8 different animals, each with different strength levels. The game is very similar to chess in that certain pieces can move certain places and you must verse your opponent in a battle of wits and strategy. Players must either reach the centre square in the enemy's area or eliminate all other animals in order to win the game.

You control your animals by tapping on them to select them and then tapping in the direction you want to move. Pieces can only move one square at a time though. Certain pieces can move in or over the river areas of the board as well. The rules of the game are a little tricky at first but soon become easy to understand.

The visuals are smooth and look great. The animal’s sound effects are quite good, but the game itself doesn’t feature any music. Players can however, use their iPod during gameplay with no loss of sound effects. The game consists of the main game only, but has a single player mode and a pass and play multiplayer mode.

Animal Kingdom is a well polished puzzle game that fans of chess would enjoy. Like any game, players might need a few goes to get used to the rules, but they will soon discover an addictive and challenging experience waiting for them.
