The newest in Donut Games' lineup of arcade games for the iPhone is Comet Racer. Comet Racer is a simple, top down racing game where you fly a spaceship around paths cut out of asteroids in the shortest amount of time possible.

Like many of Donut Games' games, the controls are very easy to use and understand, with a button for acceleration and two buttons to steer left and right. You need only steer your spaceship around the asteroids, avoiding the walls and occasional missle whilst trying to hit the boosters for some extra speed. There are also some shield powerups to help keep your spaceship alive as you rocket through the levels.

Visually, Comet Racer has a pixellated retro arcade style synonomous with the top down racers of old. The game doesn't feature any music, allowing you to listen to your iPod while playing or simply enjoy the ambient sound effects produced by your spaceship. The game only has the single player mode with 25 levels to complete with completion providing 1, 2 or 3 stars depending on your time. There is however Donut Games' fun stats option and a global high scores list.

Whilst you may finish it rather quickly, overall, Comet Racer is a clean, retro arcade racer with some addictive gameplay that will keep you playing until you've finished all levels with 3 stars.
