VERDICT
Can you believe this is "Episode 1" in a potential series of games? With any luck if future games in the Pillowfight Girls series are released they'll take more care to make things genuinely sexy instead of tweenager's fever fantasy.

In a world where girls must fight each other using pillows as their weapons, you must enter the Pillowfight Championship to prove your superior fighting skills. I couldn't even begin to make something like that up, but the premise doesn't really have to make much sense when Pillowfight Girls by I-play is just a simple excuse to show off a bit of T'N'A on your iDevice.
The controls are about as simple as fighting games can get, using a d-pad to move and change your basic attack. A block button is also available and if you manage to get a few solid hits in you can activate a small special-attack button to inflict a serious amount of damage. Holding the attack button can charge up an attack, but is easily thwarted by being hit or dodged. Much of the combat is loose and never truly makes sense, commonly resulting in knocking both characters to the ground at the same time.
The characters and environments look like they've been designed in Poser and subsequently turned in to 2D animated sprites. This would explain the shockingly low frame rate that quickly becomes frustrating to deal with, giving you almost no chance to read your opponents moves to block or counter-attack. The poses are frequently gratuitous and instead of being 'sexy' Pillowfight Girls just feels immature.
It's hard to imagine who this game is truly for as the characters themselves don't look terribly sexy and between the stilted animations and repetitive soundtrack you'll quickly be put off this half-baked fighter.
