You've ninja'd fruit, you've samurai'd vegetables and more than likely you've cut some rope, but in iSlash by Duello Games you'll need to slash, chop and shave shapes down to impossible sizes to meet the game's exacting requirements.
Well not entirely impossible, but when you reach the later stages you'll be thankful that the game provides an immediate outlet for stress - it's sort of like a bizarre two-fer-one deal. In each of the game's already blooming set of levels you'll need to slash off pieces from a wooden shape in order to reach a specific percentage. Tiny bouncing stars add to the challenge by requiring players to keep them all inside the shape that's left over and should one of them bounce in to your cutting line you'll need to restart the level.
This can prove frustrating on later levels, especially when metal barriers prevent certain cutting angles and 'ghost' stars glide almost unseen around the level. However it's never a challenge that's impossible to overcome and small techniques like holding your finger down to quickly slice across the screen helps immensely. Also, being able to shave incredibly small slices off when all else fails will help you to pass the level, though your score will suffer.
iSlash is an elegantly executed puzzler that will challenge your spacial awareness along with your sense of timing, but more importantly it's just plain fun. Whether you slash to succeed or slash to work out your frustration, this is a great title to keep coming back to.
