Chicken Rescue Review
PROS
- Plenty to keep collect-o-philes happy.
CONS
- Spending coins to return to a checkpoint? Really?
- Controls don't give the fidelity needed.
VERDICT
Chicken Rescue is just kind of bland. It's not a bad idea but the execution leaves something to be desired.

The chickens have come home to roost. That's if you're successful of course. It can be a long arduous journey for a hen to find her chicks and lead them back to their home safely. Especially when everything in the world is seemingly made of rubber and one wrong step can bounce you into oblivion.
Chicken rescue to controlled by tilting. Find a comfortable angle, calibrate, and then tilt to move the hen in that direction. The goal of each level is to find the chicks and return them to the roost. Along the way there are plenty of obstacles to avoid, and flowers to collect, which give bonus points and coins. Along with the tilting there is also a dash button used to smash through boxes, jump over crevices, and use ramps to get to higher ground. The controls are decent. You wont necessarily be fighting with them, but the hen doesn't exactly go where you want it a lot of the time either, and seeing that continuing from a checkpoint costs in game currency, you don't want to accidentally run into a cactus or a pig.
The world is presented in simplistic 3d, with everything well represented (with the possible exception of the cacti; they seem to camouflage themselves into the grass sometimes). The music is nice enough and for those who love collecting, the twenty four levels full of flowers will be more than enough to keep players busy (especially when you factor in skins and the RPG-like upgrades to the mother hen).
There's nothing terribly wrong with Chicken Rescue aside from some fine tuning of the controls needed, it's just that the whole thing is rather bland. The game is slow paced, and the level design is just kinda there. Perhaps we're missing something here. Fans of Chicken Rescue, be sure to tell us what!
