Cubis Creatures Review
PROS
- Very inventive character design.
- Lots of bonuses and multipliers to make play more exciting.
- Plenty of content including daily tournament levels.
CONS
- The levels feel like they should have a definite solution but the order of the blocks often breaks that illusion.
VERDICT
Cubis Creatures is a well made block shuffler (yes, that's what we're calling it) with enough content to keep fans happy for more than their money's worth.

While playing a trick on your furry friends, a spell was cast that put them all to sleep. How in the world can you wake someone up under a magic sleep spell (aside from smooching of course)? Well one way might be to complete level upon level of colored block busting action. And where does this block puzzler take place you ask? Why inside of the open mouths of our hapless sleeping victims of course. Sanitary
Cubis Creatures is a variation on the match three block puzzle phenomenon. Towers of blocks litter the grid, and many of them are stacked on top of each other. Shooting a color into these blocks, if it creates a match of three or more will extinguish them from the landscape, and if you're lucky, start a chain reaction. Clearing the level of all blocks isn't your goal however, it will just net you a perfect bonus for the level in question. No the actual goal is to fill up the score meter on the left side of the screen. Most levels will have this meter filling before the stage is cleared (due to score multipliers from chain reactions and making matches with special blocks that give you significant boosts). While this takes some of the pressure off, it does make the levels feel like less of a puzzle with a definitive solution, and more based on good luck with what colors the game decides to give you.
A mode that should be mentioned is the daily tournament. Each day a new level from the game is set as the tournament level, with those getting the highest scores duking it out for leaderboard supremacy. Aside from that, the characters are amusing and colorful and the game comes chock full of content, with new blocks being introduced constantly to mix things up. While nothing new in the match three genre, the presentation and the focus on high scores make this a worthwhile play for fans of the genre.
