Get ready to dance the night away with this recently released puzzle platformer from developers Golden Bite Games.
The goal is to reach your girlfriend, but it’s what happens between start and finish that really matters. You’ll need some nimble fingers if you’re going to get past security guards, piercing spikes, shifting platforms and more.
And it’s the platforms that are key to this fresh take on the Lemmings formula. The game tasks you with adjusting interactive platforms in order to guide your protagonist to the finishing line, all while dancing his feet off.
So without further ado, here’s a guide that will have you busting out killer moves in no time.
Move To The Beat
Controls to this tiny dancer are simplified and streamlined. One tap will turn the platform blue, enabling left to right direction for the character. Tap twice and the platform will turn red, enabling jumping abilities. A third tap for yellow and gravity becomes non-existent, allowing your miniature Travolta to walk walls and ceilings.
Moving to the beat is no easy feat though, especially when things start to get trickier. Handy little tip this: always try to keep a blue platform on each side of the character to ensure you stay grounded in sticky situations.
VIP passes are also available in levels, unlocking doors for progression, because why not party in superstar style?
Avoid Pitfalls
As with any good platformer, hazardous pitfalls are never far away, and Disco Party is no different.
In the beginning you only have to worry about the burley bouncers who patrol the game stage, looking to spoil your party, so avoid them at all costs to proceed.
As you progress further in the game though, traps such as spikes come into play. Manoeuvre away from them as fast as possible, as these little bad boys will send you back to the start of the level.
Strategic thinking and fast reflexes are rewarded as you dance your way to the damsel in distress, and ultimately, the level’s completion.
Record Collector
However it’s not just about rescuing the dancing queen, as the game also features floating gold discs to collect, which allow the player to purchase new stages.
The discs convert into gold coins for you to splash out on even groovier levels, so always look to collect as many as you can.
If the itch is too great, and you feel like getting your groove on without the required number of coins, there’s also in-game purchases to keep you dancing in the moonlight.
Razzle-Dazzle
Of course while the game mechanics are the star of the show, what would a party be without some cosmetic extravagance?
Disco Party has you covered, featuring several unlockable characters, each with their own unique look.
Combine this with a plethora of unlockable costumes for each one of them, and you have a neat collectibles list that’s sure to keep you coming back to the dancefloor for one more song.
Get on your dancing shoes – the party is just getting started
Disco Party is now available from the App Store.
