Apparently, it takes a whole village to raise a singular child - we're assuming they mean to raise it well, of course. That philosophy has helped Soft Design to ensure that their latest game, Money Mine: Clicker, is the best that it possibly can be after. After listening to and working closely with the community, Soft Design has just announced a full reset of its game on iOS and Android with the feedback in mind.
Money Mine: Clicker is, essentially, a tapaholic's dream. Set in the Wild West during the gold rush period, you'll be charged with running and growing your own township. To afford the many new buildings and upgrades on offer, you'll need to enter the local mines and tap on the variety of valuable rocks in there. You may even unearth an ancient artefact left behind by the previous natives or stumble across a precious gem.
The new and improved version includes streamlined gameplay, 25 unique buildings, 200 types of rock, 400 skill levels, and a world ranking system. Now is the perfect time to jump in, too, because Santa Claus has just arrived in town.
There is a lack of mining games on mobile which is surprising given the fact that tapping a rock is so highly addictive. That wasn't even the primary driving force behind Money Mine: Clicker, according to Dylan Swan, Director of Soft Design, it was simply in making a really great mobile game.
Swan said: "Before we made Money Mine: Clicker we considered ourselves as a design studio. Our portfolio consisted mainly of websites dedicated to sports and business. We always wanted more, however, and after watching how other companies like Gameloft and Rovio made games which people love, we decided that was a direction we'd like to go in. We love gaming, so creating games is a pleasure for us."
And make a game they did - and a pretty decent one at that. If Swan were to do it all over, however, he wouldn't change a thing - showing remarkable confidence in the growing brand.
"I prefer not to look back, but to move forward. That’s why I can say that we would do everything exactly the same again if we were to make Money Mine: Clicker from scratch."
As for future plans, a sequel currently isn't in the pipeline but neither is it being ruled out. Soft Design is far from resting on its laurels, however.
"We haven't considered a sequel just yet because everything depends on how successful the game will become. We don’t sit back and at the moment we have another game in development. And it has nothing in common with our previous projects."
