App Wrap Up (Weekend Edition, 10th September 2012)

By , on September 9, 2012

Hi-dee Ho Appspy readers! It's Monday and we've got another edition of the App Wrap Up ready for you! Yes we got some interesting submissions over the weekend, and combined with those that came in last week have some neat looking games to showcase. Remember though, these are just trailers, and our impressions (as well as yours) are only based on said trailers. If you have played any of these titles or decide to do so, please let us know what you think in the comments. Well i've just had my second coffee for the day, so let's get to it!

Project: Mayhem (OneSmartBunny, LLC)

Another tough as nails platformer, this one with very simple visuals. The level design looks great, but as with all of these games, i worry about the controls. The trailer showcases some pretty tight manouvers, but whether or not that's the case in game remains to be seen.

Wonderlines (Nevosoft)

A match three game, but to be honest, after watching the trailer i'm unsure exactly how it works. There looks to be a lot of chain reactions for big points, and the boards themselves are large and varied (plus there's a lot of modes), so if you're looking for your next Bejeweled fix, this could be the direction to head in.

Quantum Legacy HD (Miles Godspeed)

Back in the early 90s, space shooters were a favourite genre of mine, especially Tie Fighter, the Wing Commander series, and Privater. Quantum Legacy seems to have based its design on this now all too niche genre, and it looks impressive, especially visually. The voice acting is kind of hokey, and combat looks a little one note, but if flying through space and dogfighting gets your adrenaline pumping, this may be one to check out.

Blood Roofs (Thomas Wagner and Gamesmold)

While this looks like yet another game using Temple Run as its basis, i gotta say, the more you watch the trailer, the more impressive this looks. With some intense looking action set pieces (especially with giant boss monsters), and solid visuals (even if the style is kind of generic), this could be a lot of fun for those of you looking for a good action fix.

Sliding Sam (Samuel Marin)

From demons and rooftops to penguins and sliding. We've seen plenty of line drawing games, and at face value, nothing looks too special about this one, but later on in the trailer, you get glimpses of some of the later levels, and the complex pathways needed to collect the stars and get to the level goal, and this design alone grants it a spot here.

And that's it for today. Tune in next time (which should be later in the week) for another installment of your favourite non-review app showcasing column on Appspy.com. Till next time!
