Hands-on with Tank Operations: European Campaign, which features lots and lots of hex tiles

Look how sweet these hex tiles are. Hnnng! And those highly detailed but really quite teensy units that move across the board? Dopeness. Here's our early look at Tank Operations: European Campaign, available on iPad on the 12th of February.…

Hands-on with Religion Simulator, and praise be to the cheese slices

I'm not one for organised religion myself, but I find the concept fascinating. If you're equally interested in how religious dogma spreads across the world, or are just up for a fast-paced strategic game, then Religion Simulator may be for you. I got my hands on an early build, and this is what it looks like in motion.…

Hands-on with Daytona Rush, the endless racer that goes round and round and round and round and

So far I've enjoyed my time with this early version of Daytona Rush. A colourful and chunky endless racer, Daytona Rush mostly has you zipping between three lanes, trying to avoid the heavily congested tracks, all the while keeping an eye on your fuel gauge and pitting into a fourth lane to resupply. The game's out shortly, here's an early look...…

Hello GEOFF - AppSpy's Sunday Service

Every Sunday AppSpy condenses all you need to know about portable gaming into one article, and calls it AppSpy's Sunday Service. This is that article. Hello. The Big Stories 1. GEOFF is here, and we have the world exclusive first look. 2. Gasp! We reviewed 3DS game The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. 3. This is how to play Bayonetta on your iPhone (well, kind of...) 4. Beat the Beat is a shmup in which the enemies move and fire to the rhythm of the dubstep soundtrack. 5. There's a new Fast & Furious game in soft-launch. This is what it looks like. AppSpy Recommends Radiation Island is a first person survival game that borrows elements of Rust, Day-Z, and Minecraft, and blend…

In the beginning there was Siri, then there was Cortana, and now there's GEOFF

We've been fortunate enough to get exclusive early access to GEOFF, the Gaming Entertainment Online Fact Finder. At its core, the new app -which is still currently in development - retrieves information on any game you throw at it. Angry Birds to Clash of Clans, The Room to Ridiculous Fishing, Thomas Was Alone to Tiny Tower: any game you can think of, it has statistics and trivia and facts like you wouldn't believe. Here's James to run you through some of the basics.…

Hands-on with Cava Racing, the upcoming futuristic racer with a whole lot of potential

Cava Racing is gorgeous, there's no denying that - just hit play on the video below and you'll see. And when in a slower vehicle, the long sweeping corners and chicanes are extremely satisfying to weave through. Things get a little hair-raising when you step things up a gear though, and that needs to be worked out before launch. Luckily though, that may well not be for some time, as Cava Racing is currently very much in development, so there's still plenty of time to make the necessary tweaks.…

Hands-on with Sinking Feeling, which features very realistic glass

No but really, that glass is very very realistic. Created by the ultra talented bunch at Force of Habit, Sinking Feeling is an endless action game that starts off hard and just gets increasingly ludicrous the further you get. You don't see the next stage of difficulty in this video, but it's probably for the best, lest your eyes explode from the speed at which pixels fly about the screen. Sinking Feeling is out on the 5th of February, the App Store link for which is below this video.…

Hands-on with The Ember Conflict, the soft-launched strategy game with a thing for pugs

There's a fair amount of tactical depth to The Ember Conflict, I tell you. You can grab and dominate the zones littered about each stage, or simply destroy your opponent's team through strategic play - it's up to you. I had a quick look at the soft-launched version, here's how I got on. [App Store link]…
