Netmarble has released the latest game update for Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds, including a new event and an anniversary celebration. Players will be able to don their chefs hat as they take part in a cooking competition, or build friendships with NPCs with the new Favor System.
The Cooking Competition Episode will see players practising their wok work instead of their swordplay as the Kingdom of Evermore comes over all hungry. The rewards on offer include a Head Chef Hat Chest and other various power up materials, available to collect by completing various missions and tasks. Also added to the game are the Chef Outfit and the Sweets Cart, to bring out the budding culinarian inside everyone.
In addition to the chef-based rewards, players will also be able to acquire the Sore Boar familiar, by using the power-up materials acquired from the event's missions. Powering this fearsome friend up during the event will also give additional items, such as Sore Boar Biscuits, Jelly Bottles and a 3 Star Toy Chest by progressing in awakening levels.
To celebrate 100 days since the game's grand launch, Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds will be hosting the 100-Day Anniversary Check-In campaign. By checking into the game over a 28-day period, players will be gifted a plethora of items, including a 6 Star Dimensional Deer and a Rare 4 Star Equipment Selection Chest.
This update also slips in an interesting sounding feature for the game, in the form of the Favor System. This new mechanic will allow players to build friendships with various NPCs in the world by interacting with them. This includes characters that will take care of crops in the Familiars’ Forest.
Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds is available to download now on the App Store and Google Play, and features cross-play with the PC version.
