Crunchyroll is keen to keep the good times rolling following the first-anniversary celebration of its mobile RPG My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero. The introduction of a new hero and game mode is bound to stave off any celebration hangover.
My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero is based on the hit anime and manga series of the same name. The story centres on Izuku Midoriya, a young lad who lives in a world where superpowers, known as Quirks, are fairly common. Despite being born without a Quirk, Midoriya is determined to become a hero and gains entry to a high school for heroes to try and attain his lofty dreams.
The gloves are coming off as players now have the chance to recruit the number 2 Pro Hero of Honei, Hawks. Returning to the lineup for anyone who missed him the first time around, it is clear to see why Hawks is ranked as highly as he is, with his ability to take control of the skies and decimate enemies with his Fierce Wings quirk. This hero will be unlockable until September 27th, as well as his set of EX Passive cards to truly bring out his power.
If practically any manga or anime ever produced has beaten one lesson into audiences, it's that the most powerful force of all is friendship. Crunchyroll agrees and is introducing a new Tag Team Battle Mode, allowing players the opportunity to team up with another hero to take on other teams and prove their dominance.
Tag Team battles unfold with participants fielding a group of four chosen characters against other teams, making a truly huge superhero brawl. In a pretty unique and very neat little twist, player tag teams will advance through ranks together with higher rankings unlocking unique rewards. The Tag Team Battles Mode will reset rankings, so everyone new or old will have the chance to reach the top.
My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero is available to download for free on the App Store and Google Play.
