Netmarble has announced the opening for pres-registration for its upcoming action game THE KING OF FIGHTERS ARENA. A website for registration has also been released and will provide a deep insight into all of the characters over the coming weeks.

THE KING OF FIGHTERS ARENA is the follow-up mobile game in the KoF franchise, following THE KING OF FIGHTERS ALL STAR, a game that garnered Netmarbled no small amount of praise. Whereas ALL STAR played as a side-scrolling beat 'em up in parts, ARENA is shaping up to focus more on Real Time PvP battles, the best kind of fighter gameplay. Right now the modes announced are 1v1 Singles and 3v3 Teams, standard modes but new modes may appear in future updates.

The pre-registration website has launched to provide further information, which includes a road map of the game's progress, however, something of more interest is the Fighter Introductory Clips. Each of the 37 characters will receive a short video showcasing the special skills on offer, with further clips being released over the weeks before launch. Critically, it has been announced that all 37 of the characters will be free-to-play, although no news on if that is at all times or on a rotation basis.

Additionally, for those interested as digital currency falls apart, THE KING OF FIGHTERS ARENA will feature Blockchain integration. The way it works is a bit convoluted; by equipping a Controller in fights players will earn Fight Money, which can then be traded for Fighter’s Club Token, which can then be used on the Blockchain. There will also be an NFT market featuring various Fighters Cards.
