Kabam has announced the two latest characters to join the already bulging roster of mobile fighter Marvel Contest of Champions. Debuting in the new motion comic Arachnophobia, Spider-Man Supreme and The Spot will join the game in October.
The ever-popular Spider-Man and the player Summoner received a distress call from Spider-Man Supreme, asking for assistance in stopping an impending catastrophe that threatens the whole Spider-Verse. However, the new Spider-Supreme appears to be hiding a few secrets, so it is down to the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man to foil Spot's plans and get to the bottom of this new Spider folk.
Spider-Man Supreme, as the name suggests, is a truly powerful hero combining the power of Spider-Man and the knowledge of the mystic arts. The ever unlucky Peter Parker was bitten by another spider that crawled out of an ancient artifact, binding their psyche to the power of the Spider-Verse. Under the tutelage of the Ancient One, Peter Parker learned how to combine his power with spells and enchantments, becoming Spider-Man Supreme.
On the other side of the heroic spectrum, M.I.T. doctorate Jonathan Ohnn was once working on harnessing Darkforce energy to create experimental portal technology. After a black circular portal Ohnn managed to create started to become unstable, he jumped through and was transported to the Spotted Dimension. Managing to return to reality, Ohnn discovered his body covered in black spots. Discovering the spots to be portals, Ohnn realised they granted him the power to transport through space instantly and instantly became a thief known as The Spot, as you would.
Spider-Man Supreme will arrive at the Contest on October 6th, with The Spot following shortly after on October 18th. In the meantime, the new Arachnophobia motion comic will give players a sneak peek at these new characters and their skills.
