As if surviving in the doomsday survival open world of LifeAfter was not tough enough with the regular enemies skulking around, a huge new threat has emerged in the latest crossover. Straight from the pages of Evangelion, players will have the chance to do battle against the fearsome Angels, and what's worse, they have become infected too.
The new crossover’s main feature is a limited-time stage which will task survivors to form teams of four and head to an abandoned building. Always a clever idea. They will need to battle infected Angels as they find a power source to recharge the mysterious Evangelion Test Type-01, the iconic giant biomachine from the eponymous series.
Once activated, players will have the opportunity to meet the fully-charged Type-01, and wage an huge battle against the epic final boss, a threat that combines the powers of multiple Angels, including the ability to generate an A.T Field, aka Absolute Terror Field, aka an impenetrable barrier. Survivors will need to work together to neutralize this shield with a special weapon to defeat the indominable foe, and bring the world back to its regular, slightly less threatening state.
If the thought of giant biorobot battles arnt enough to make this event enticing, NetEase has also thrown in over 60 Crossover Items to collect. Players are able to wear the plugsuits of characters such as Shinji, Rei and Asuka, as well as some other original characters' outfits and pet skins with an Evangelion inspired twist. Combined with limited edition weapon, drone and car paint, the event is a cosplayer's greatest dream.
The style doesn’t end with the character, as there will also be a lot of items available to deck out the Manor with. Evangelion Test Typoe-01-themed tables, beds, chairs, lamps, doors, wallpapers and much more can be collected to achieve the particular, slightly odd dream that probably some people have of living inside a giant bioman.
LifeAfter is available to download now on the App Store and Google Play, with the Evangelion event already underway until October 27th.
