The Anime art style is perfect for gaming as it easily adds a layer of vibrant happy fun to the artwork, and the latest game to take advantage of this is COLOPL Incs' NEKO Golf -Anime GOLF-. Rather disappointingly you do not golf as a cat, but NEKO Golf looks to have enough going for it to overlook that grievous oversight.

NEKO Golf brings a variety of different modes to choose from for the social to the shut-in. Enjoy Mode lets players swing away to their heart's content in either a solo tournament or an unstructured jaunt on the driving range. The rather anime-titled Battle Mode is for those who want to compete for the best score, and the Golf Tour will pit golfers against other real players around the world.

One of the more interesting features of the game is the golfers themselves. There are 5 unique characters to choose from, each with their own strengths and weaknesses that lend themselves to different play styles. It sounds like an intriguing addition that hopefully won’t overpower the skill portion of lining up shots. There is even a quite robust customisation system to kit out the chosen golfer in a variety of clothing and accessory options.

When taking part in the online game modes with other players, there are a few tools NEKO Golf has to make the experience a bit more social. A scrapbook of cute emotes is available to spam, or the more boisterous ones can get involved with the in-game voice chat, which will no doubt host an endless onslaught of Happy Gilmore references at all times.

NEKO Golf -Anime GOLF- will launch in late October for Android and IOS devices. Those with Android devices can head over to the Google Play page and sign up for the pre-registration to get into the action as soon as the game launches.
