Com2uS has officially launched its newest full-fledged MMORPG Summoners War: Chronicles. Set in the world of the globally acclaimed Summoners War, Chronicles is a cross-platform open-world game featuring co-op and PvP play.

Summoners War: Chronicles is a prequel to the whole series, providing some background for Summoners War: Sky Arena and Summoners War: Lost Centuira. It takes place in the Rahil Kingdom which is recovering after two huge wars when a new threat emerges ready to renew destruction. Players will take control of one of three recent graduates from the Rahil Magic Academy; Cleaf, Orbia or Kina, who strike out to protect the world as Rahil Guardians.

There will be five fully fleshed-out regions to explore in all their open-world glory, featuring an expansive main story as well as a scattering of side quests. There will also be five unique bosses to contend with in Kingdom Expeditions, as well as unique monthly challenges in the Trial of Ascension modes.

Thanks to its cross-play and cross-progression, Chronicles will host a variety of cooperative and competitive modes wherever the mood strikes. Guilds can be formed for players to work together and tackle Field Boss Events, or the ranked Rupture Events. Teams can retackle dungeons at higher difficulties, or take on the almighty Raid Bosses to nab some strong equipment. Teams of three will also be able to try their hand at the most difficult content, Endgame Dungeons, for a chance to earn the game's most powerful rewards.

If you really feel like slapping a friend, the Challenge Arena and Brawl Arena provide ample opportunity for some good old PvP. The Challenge Arena pits a player's attack team against other premade defence teams. For more of a challenge, the Brawl Arena provides full-on real-time combat for a proper fight.
