Mica Team has launched the latest chapter in its Girls Frontline universe, called Neural Cloud. Featuring a story with thought-provoking takes on the ethics of Artificial Intelligence, Neural Cloud has already amassed an impressive player base of over 3 million.
Players will assume the role of the Professor, an individual who, after three years of dormancy, awakens in the year 2060 in the virtual cloud network, surrounded by other individuals who were uploaded and scattered during a technological “accident”. It is up to the Professor to save these beings, named Exiles, by leading them to escape the virtual purgatory, and solve the mystery of Project Neural Cloud
Neural Cloud is a strategy RPG that uses a deck-building system for gameplay to deliver action-packed combat on a tiled battlefield. Combat is punctuated by futuristic, sci-fi-eske aesthetics backed by a soundtrack with some distinctive melodies. Battles take place between your team of Dolls and the enemy Sanctifiers, Anti-Virus AIs determined to keep everyone confirmed to the cloud network.
Outside of battle, you will have the chance to build up your own little slice of virtual paradise known as the Oasis. By collecting materials you will have the opportunity to upgrade facilities, construct dormitories for your dolls, and source materials passively for buffs and perks that can be employed in the next battle.
Looking to create a memorable theme song, Mica Team turned to Owl City, known for their 2009 song Fireflies which for a long time seemed to be the only song that existed. Adam Young, the sole permanent member, brought Owl City back after a four-year break and recorded Up To The Cloud, a trancy, hopeful song to perfectly set the mood for Neural Cloud.
Neural Cloud is available to download now from the App Store and Google Play.
