The holidays are here and what is more festive than shooting strangers around the world in some 3v3 team-based fun in T3 Arena? Hot on the heels of the recent huge implementations of ranked mode and the wishlist, XD Inc is celebrating winter in style was some very Christmassy overhauls.

Whilst the majority of the T3 maps will be getting a snowy feel to them with the occasional snowman popping up to inevitably have proximity weaponry attached to them, it will be the new Emmental map that will truly be basking in the season. Inspired by the Swiss Alps, there will be snow aplenty to run around in, blissful wooden cottages and massive pine trees to admire, and even a cheese factory, because why not.

It is not just the maps that will be getting a whack from the festive stick, as the whole UI will be getting a makeover. There will be special effects such as snow on the selection screens, and for a limited time, the T3 Arena theme song will be replaced with a new, festive single instead, which will be heavy or hell depending on your stance on Christmas music.

Of course, the characters in T3 will also be getting into the festive spirit by donning some special skins. Ossas will be dressing up as a reindeer, Yaa and Iris will be wearing Christmas-inspired colours and patterns, and Chemist will be dressing as Red Riding Hood because apparently, she missed the Christmas memo. There will be more skins for additional characters coming in future updates.

It's not all cosmetic though, as the power grid in T3 Arena has been sabotaged, and it is up to players all around to take part in the Heat It Up event. After every battle, by liking other players you will increase the global heat meter, unlocking rewards for all including a special avatar frame.
