Fresh from a fairly successful first year on iOS, XD Games has opened pre-registrations for the Google Play version of its platform fighting game Flash Party. Soon, Android players will be able to join in the fun, and throwdown and ruin friendships whenever the mood strikes.
Flash Party pits players against each other in various modes; 1v1, 2v2, Brawl, Arena and the Soccer Showdown if football fever has bitten you. There are a variety of characters to choose from each with their own styles from straight-up melee brawlers to casters who set traps for the unaware to stumble onto.
There is a large array of maps to choose from, with the likes of Olympus and Jotunheim providing their unique quirks and challenges, or a stadium map which is certainly nothing like a certain famous platform brawler's stadium, what gave you that prosperous idea? Flash Party takes the solid groundwork of the platform fighters of the past and perfects it for mobile.
Whilst the Android version launches on January 10th, all players will get to engage with the new Stardust Warriors update. This fan-led update has been tried and tested in the games Lab Mode and has received universal acclaim, overhauling some of the weaker aspects with player recommendations for a better experience.
The Universal Mechanics overhaul will divide all the game's heroes into one of four categories; Assaulter, Impeder, Power House and All-rounder, with each of these classes having to default Universal Mechanics. This is designed to enhance gameplay for its newer players based on feedback from veterans, with new hero Cookie & Can probably being the best to gauge how successful the overhaul has been.
A second mechanic, the Sticker system, will also be launched. By collecting and applying Colorstickers to your heroes, passive skills will be applied during battles, and Normal Stickers can be used to improve universal attributes. This is an excellent little way to add a bit more of a unique style to a hero's gameplay.
Flash Party is available to download now from the App Store, and pre-registrations are now open for the Google Play version, launching January 10th.
