Noice2D Game Studio has opened pre-orders for its newest mobile game, UFO99. Launching on January 19th, you can now sign up on the App Store to make sure you can jump straight into the action.

If something with the word UFO in the title does not interest you, then check again because you are wrong, who doesn’t like aliens? However, UFO99 does things a little bit differently, as you will more often than not be flying around as cutesy little characters instead. There are over 60 to choose from, including snakes, cars and even a cow.

In this adorable, colourful explosion of a game, you pilot your chosen character around with a fairly simple flying combat system using a virtual joystick to float around on a 2D axis, dashing and dodging various enemies and attacks. You even get an invincibility button for some extra speed and protection.

You will need to pick up the hammer items and use them to bonk block monsters into oblivion, whilst collecting all the delicious coins floating around, which can be reinvested into drawing more cutesy characters. Despite its rather disarming art style and the fact that it seemingly beat the bosses by firing kisses at them, despite cruelly hammering the previous foes into dust a few seconds earlier, UFO99 can get a bit unexpectedly hectic. It is very much shaping up to be a more casual, relaxing take on the bullet hell fliers we are used to.

Luckily, it can even serve as a way to get the whole family into gaming with its up to 4 players' local WiFi multiplayer connection. You will be able to clear waves together and tackle the boss fights, with the ability to come to each other's aid should you be knocked out.
