Halbrick Studios has been a powerhouse in the mobile gaming world, churning out a lot of hits to keep everyone busy in their downtime. Now, they have hosted their own Halfbrick Beyond Showcase, giving fans a taste of what to expect in 2023.
The standout announcement from the showcase was arguably the continuing adventures of Halfbrick's most famous character. Dan the Man will be shaking the cobwebs off and gearing up for a new martial arts adventure as he punches and kicks his way through a host of baddies. Interestingly he won’t be doing it alone, as the trailer showcases the arrival of a new ally, a mysterious crimson-cloaked archer who has sought Dan out for unforeseen reasons. You can find out why in Summer 2023.
If you just can’t get enough of the pugilistic ninja, Halfbricks has also announced the latest series of the animation that inspired that game. Dan the Man Season 3 will follow the cast of beloved characters as they bask in the peaceful time victory brought them, at least for a little while until the call of adventure rings again, taking our heroes across the sea. The new season will premiere in May 2023.
One of Halfbricks biggest mobile hits has to be Jetpack Joyride, with its impressively generic yet still instantly recognisable protagonist Barry Steakfries. Halfbrick is bringing back one of Barry's earlier adventures, a year before he donned his jet-propelled backpack, a remaster of the 2010 shooter Age of Zombies. The adventures see Barry equipping a host of guns and lobbing copious grenades at a neverending hoard of the undead that threatens to engulf the whole screen, with the odd undead dinosaur also showing up for good measure. You can relive this glorious gun game in its remastered glory in 2023.
It’s fair to say that everyone will know Barry more from the Jetpack Joyride series, which has garnered quite a lot of critical acclaim. So much in fact, that Dan the Man is no longer the only silver-screen star from Halfbricks. In late 2023 Barry will be getting his own series, promising more jetpacks, more villains, and fewer sleeves.
