Team17 has announced the launch of Worms WMD: Mobilize for Android and iOS devices. A remaster of the 2016 entry, Worms WMD, it is time to load up on more weapons than you can carry, and engage in some amusing and destructive battles.

When Worms WMD was first released in 2016, it marked a return to the gameplay style that made the series so famous. Bringing back the 2D action style and removing some of the experimental mechanics of previous entries, such as classes and water physics, it was a welcome return from the 3D escapades Team17 tried out. You don’t mess with the classics.

Returning to Mobilize from the original is the inclusion of vehicles, such as the tank and mech, because Holy Hand Grenades and Super Sheep were not destructive enough, along with 50 different weapons for you to collect and destroy the environment with. For more loadout options, you can equip your worms with over 100 hats, 15 victory dances and over 30 varieties of gravestones, which might be a first in gaming.

For this mobile masterpiece, Team17 has confirmed that it will support Bluetooth controllers, in case you don’t feel like using the on-screen controls, or you want to play through the TV. Luckily whichever way you choose, with its turn-based action you won’t be at a disadvantage if you play sans controller.

You will also have the pleasure of watching your carnage unleash in up to 60 fps as you tackle the 10 training missions and 20 story missions in the single-player mode, each with three additional objectives to keep additional playthroughs a bit fresher. Of course, the best fun in Worms is taking on other players, so Mobilize comes equipped with local and online multiplayer. Online can host two teams of four, whereas local can have up to four teams.
