FourThirtyThree inc has announced the implementation of a new mode for their sports simulator Boxing Star. Tag Mode is the newest way for you to enjoy the action, and will be adding a whole new dimension to gameplay for your to master.

As the name suggests, Tag Mode takes a little step away from the reality of Boxing and borrows a bit from wrestling matches. You pick two characters before the fight, and then can freely switch between them as the action unfolds.

It is an interesting concept for the sport and one that opens up a lot of tactical possibilities. You could start with a fighter with high stamina to slowly whittle down your opponent, before tagging in your more fragile but stronger boxers to deliver that next out punch. Certainly, a system to experiment with.

To prepare you for this new mode there are three new types of Bio Gears being introduced. These are special chips you can add to your characters to unlock strong skills to pull off in fights, and more importantly, ones that will work well off each other in tag matches. Picking two that combine well together will be vital for winning the tag matches.

Now, beating this new mode is all well and good, but as well all know it means nothing if you don’t do it with style. To help with this, there are three new costumes available to collect and adorn your favourites with. The Golden Knight Armor will prepare you for a quest to seek out the grail, the Emerald outfit will give you a fluorescent green hue and make you Kryptonite for the opposition, and the Silver Tigers outfit will provide you all the defence you need to tank those blows.

Boxing Star is available to download now from the App Store and Google Play. Make sure you do before June 1st, when a new log-in campaign will be kicking off.
