It is World Environment Day today, and what better way to commemorate the occasion than learning about the danger to animals whilst you beat zombies with bats in State of Survival? FunPlus is joining the Green Game Jam to help raise awareness about the environmental issues we are already facing.

Not doing things by half, the campaign is named The Apocalypse is Already Happening to Animals, a shrewd angle to take because who doesn’t want to protect our fluffy little friends? Lasting until June 7th, this immersive experience is aiming to give players a first-person perspective of the consequences of deforestation and wildfires in the Amazon.

During this campaign, as you play State of Survival you can encounter a set of in-game messages encouraging you to support environmental preservation through the Broadcast Center of your Settlement. Again, a good move to put this in an optional area, because most people, me included, would just hammer the continue button if it was forced on you.

Upon joining the program, FunPlus Chief Business Officer Chris Petrovic said “ Our participation in the Green Game Jam represents a significant step forward in our commitment to social responsibility.”

“Through State of Survival, we have the opportunity to raise awareness and drive positive change for the environment among a huge community of players. We believe in the power of gaming in making a difference and are looking forward to engaging State of Survival players on this topic too."

To take part in this little capsule of education, or to just enjoy some good old fashion zombie smashing, download State of Survival from the App Store or Google Play. You can also visit the Green Game Jam website yourself if you are keen to learn about the good work the company and its affiliates are up to.
