It has been ten years since Gameloft first linked up with Illumination and Universal Games platform to release their hit runner Minion Rush, and it is safe to say it has been a tremendous hit. To celebrate this decade of success, there is a new story and new quests, with the opportunity to unlock a brand-new Minion for your troubles.
Our hapless heroes are determined to make this anniversary one to remember, and what better way to do this than to carve the face of their fearless leader, Gru, onto the Moon? It is a nice little callback to the first movie for the fans, and one that will require you to collect the necessary oxygen tanks, hammers, and parts to build the rocket and laser needed. After this tiny task is complete, head to the United States and rebuild a playground so our protagonists can unwind with a spot of basketball, baseball, and football.
When you have finished with this outer-space spectacle, you can tackle the limited-time events, setting off on a globe-trotting adventure to collect that which Minions covet most; bananas. Your quest will take you to such countries as Indonesia, Mexico, and Italy, and you can work your way through multiple tiers of rewards depending on how many you grab. You will want to start grinding though, as the ultimate reward is the brand-new Minion, Phil.
Finally, prepare yourselves to journey to Illumination’s Villian-Con Minion Blast, coming later this year. Coinciding with the real-world attraction opening at Universal Orlando Resort this summer, you will be able to tackle a variety of tasks inspired by this new build, which further details coming as the event draws closer.
Download Minion Rush now from the App Store and Google Play and see for yourself why it has racked up over one billion downloads.
