If you are anything like me, you need your MMOs to give you the opportunity to craft all of your gear yourself, and one of the standout examples of this is RuneScape. Of course, to craft you need to gather, and these skills can take a while to level, but with this latest update, at least your Woodcutting journey can be a little easier.

Woodcutting is one of those RuneScape skills that conjure fond memories in every player's mind. It is one of the most versatile skills, allowing you to build forts, and being invaluable to archers as a source of arrows, as well as being one of the first skills we were all introduced to. Seeing it honoured this way is a beautiful sight for lovers of the game.

All this newness centres on RuneScapes Fort Forinthry content, which unfortunately as players will know is sadly Members only. You will be able to build yourself a Woodcutters’ Grove, a one-stop-shop full of a diverse portfolio of tree types, so you shouldn’t need to go hunting again. It will even be the most convenient Elder Tree location, so your levelling will be supersonic.

Outside of this handy new area, the update also brings with it a brand-new best-in-class Tier 80 axe, the Imcando Hatchet. To unlock this god amongst tools, you will have to collect the four fragments of this legendary hatching throughout your woodcutting adventures. Once you have them, combine them with a Dragon Hatchet and you have your new favourite tool; a Dragon Hatchet with some wood scraps glued to it I assume.

On top of the big stuff, the Woodcutting and Fletching skills also have a little tune-up, and we also have the introduction of upgradable wood boxes to store your plethora of logs. Finally, you will now stumble upon Wood Spirits, which provide an additional log for each felled tree, perfect for your new box.

Runescape can be downloaded now from the App Store and Google Play.
