I personally am an absolute sucker for open-world games with crafting, which means I am very much looking forward to the upcoming beta of Amazing Seasun Games' new title, Dawlands, entitled Beta: Warriors Trial, and with over 1.5 million players already pre-registered, spaces will be limited.

Dawnlands places you in the role of the Warrior of Light, tasked with travelling the world to collect crystals, nope wrong series, to seek out and destroy all the remnants of the Demon Lord before he pulls himself together and begins doing dastardly deeds. Your classic RPG story then, but with a truly humongous backdrop.

The open world you get to explore is a truly vast 10x10Km, with a plethora of unique biomes for you to explore. There are snowy mountains, foggy swamps, desolate plains and dense forests, with a day and night cycle along with a weather system that will provide a multitude of circumstances as your venture through.

You aren’t consigned to just walk across this giant world, however, as there are quite a few ways you can complete your journey. You can practise your slides off of great hills, bond with a mount and allow it to whisk you away, or even build yourself a giant track across the world to travel via mine cart because crafting is indeed a huge part of this adventure.

As you start out, you won’t have that much to your name. It will be up to you to collect and gather all the resources you need through woodcutting, mining and hunting to get everything you require. When you are well-equipped enough, you can even build your own base, complete with terraforming options for the house of your dreams.
