Despite Pokemon GO's massive popularity, one of the biggest issues with it is finding groups for raids or general malarky, let’s face it, you can go up to everyone staring at their phone and ask if they are playing. Finally, trainers globally will have a hand in finding a team in one of Niantic's most essential updates.
Over in the US, there has been an App called Campfire, a sort of social network overlay that works hand-in-hand with Niantic games to provide services such as a bigger map view, tagging, share options, etc. Finally, the rest of the world can download this app, and enjoy Pokemon GO in a much more social way.
Simply by using the new Team Up feature, you will be able to join a group of new friends in tackling a Raid Battle, or you can host your own. Campfire will show you teams targeting raids close to you, and then you simply join and get your hands on the sweet, sweet four-star Pokemon. Not to mention the bigger map view will make finding raids and stops so much easier.
On the launch of this new feature, Campfires’ Product Director, Ivan Zhou, said: “When we designed the Raids feature in Pokémon GO, we were focused on creating new gameplay that encouraged people to get together in the real world at the same time and the same place.”
“To make finding and joining Raids even easier, we’re introducing Team Up, which connects Trainers with other nearby Trainers, to form a team and tackle Raid Battles together. We know a lot of our players look to disparate community tools to organise gameplay and it can be quite cumbersome, which is why we’re thrilled to make that a more connected experience. We can’t wait to see what our Trainers achieve with the new feature!”
