Things are heating up in Navigator Games' officially licensed Avatar: Generations, with one of the best stories of the Avatar series coming to the game. Head up your own liberation squad and bust out the captured Earthbenders from the Fire Nations' dreaded Prison Rig.

Imprisoned is arguably one of the best episodes of the first series, and perhaps the whole franchise. It sees the Gaang sneak into a metal prison to rescue their friend Haru and a host of Warthbenders from the clutches of the Fire Nation. It has all four forms of bending on display, inspiring words, and ingenious plots, and is all around a fantastic watch.

The Prison Rig is now yours to explore in all its foreboding glory, and with it, you have the opportunity to recruit a few new characters. You can grab one of the Gaang's most loyal friends in Haru, as well as Prisoner Haru along with Prisoner Tyro, the disheartened leader of the rest of the captives until Katara inspired him again. Finally, you may also recruit The Warden of the Rig, if only to put him in your team to watch him be beaten up.

It is a nice start to Avatar Generations July calendar and one that will grow thanks to the next reported character hailing from one of the series' graphic novels. The Rift focuses sees Aang having a vision of past Avatar Yangchen, and as a result decides to celebrate Yangchen's Festival, which honours her defeat against an ancient evil known as General Old Iron.

The Rift is a very interesting story that looks at both Aang's relationship with the Spirit World and also pushes Toph into the limelight as well. Hopefully, Generations will look at this story and the life of Yangchen in a future update, until then, July will let players at least recruit the fearsome big bad General Old Iron for their own.

Avatar Generation can be downloaded now from the App Store and Google Play.
