Version 4.0 was arguably one of Genshin Impact's biggest, with the introduction of the vast Fontaine region, a new element for the Traveler, a gripping story of intrigue, and a whole new way to explore via diving underwater. Now, the Fontaine run continues with the upcoming 4.1 update.

To the Stars Shining in the Depths is set to release on September 17th, and will expand the Fontaine region to the north. Concealed in the deep sea, the Fortress of Meropide serves as a sanctuary for exiles and also holds vital functions and mysteries. The new Archon Quest will bring you here to hunt for Childe, and you may also encounter another Fatui Harbinger with Arlecchino making her debut.

To tackle this new threat, you can recruit two of the region's natives as Neuvillette and Wriothesley enter the playable roster. Neuvillette, the Ludex of Fontaine, can fire out a surging torrent of Hydro damage with his Charged Attack in a straight line. After this long-ranged assault, Meropides’ Administrator Wriothesley can rush in with their melee attacks to deal Cryo damage to knock out that Freeze reaction.

Both of these characters are Catalyst wielders, so head over to Mondstadt and Liyue to take part in a poetry festival with a chance to earn an exclusive 4-star Catalyst weapon. You will also be able to participate in various mini-games and have the opportunity to reunite with a few select friends.

To celebrate Genshin Impacts' third anniversary, HoYoVerse has introduced a special daily login event giving out up to 10 Interwined Fates for a chance to recruit one of those new characters. During Version 4.1, all players will get 1,600 Primogems, 4 Fragile Resin, and two unique gadgets the Portable Aerodynamic Gelatinous Bubble Generator and the Itty Bitty Octobaby.

Genshin Impact is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
