Leading developer Netmarble has announced a bumper update to its MMORPG Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds. Players can through themselves into massive new Raids with dozens of other players, and gain the materials needed to boost their armour to the greatest heights.
The biggest announcement here is arguably the new Raid dungeons, which come with extremely powerful new bosses to take on. You will need to complete missions, evade obstacles, and try to survive, but luckily you don’t need to do this alone as up to 20 players can enter together.
As fun as this new content sounds, it might unfortunately serve to shine a spotlight on Cross Worlds' lack of character classes and fundamental appearance options. Each run will end up with a lot of clones of the five classes running around, no doubt all dressed up in the new Mecha Soldier Weapon Costume you can earn here. It's a small concern and not one that will necessarily break this interesting-sounding new feature.
In order to tackle these new fearsome bosses, you are going to need to have some pretty sturdy armour for when you undoubtedly stumble into that tankbuster, and luckily the Armor Liberation feature is here to save you. Much like Weapon Liberation added in July this year, you can push your defensive equipment past its limits of 6-star and level 30.
After doing this, you can get some special stat bonuses through Wisp Contracts and Armor Wisps to get the ultimate gear. This update also increases the maximum Equipment Enhancement Level from 99 all the way up to 130. To get past 100 you will need two new materials which can be gathered from Field Bosses, Relic Wars and of course, Raids.
To celebrate the new updates, the Raid Update Check-In Event will give you rewards over 14 days such as a Choice Summon Coupon Pack. Clearing a Raid will grant you an entry number and enter a bingo-style event with a chance to win a Miraculous Warding Doll chest. Finally, from the 27th Platypaw’s Liberating Vacation will give you the chance to gain Sealed Genie Weapons and Armor by completing missions and collecting tickets.
Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is available to download now from the App Store and Google Play.
