Raw Fury, the brains behind the side-scrolling strategy series Kingdom, has announced that the newest entry in the series, Kingdom Eighties, will land on mobile on October 16th. Soon you will be able to head back in time, climb aboard your noble bike, and see what it would be like if you were King of Stranger Things.

You will take the role of the Leader, a young camp counsellor, who teams up with their friends the Champ, the Tinkerer, and the Wiz to defend the town of Monarch from the encroaching army of the mysterious Greed. Each of these characters has a host of special abilities you must master if you wish to defeat this evil army.

Throughout the day you will need to recruit the neighbourhood children and, in your role as the older authority figure, turn them into soldiers and builders. You can then spend coins to expand and upgrade the town with options such as big walls and defensive turrets, or explore Monarch and find new mounts, weapons, and tech upgrades. Beware the night, however, as that is when the Greed will relentlessly strike.

Kingdom Eighties takes everything about the beloved series, and gives it an unmistakably 80s twist, all the the backing soundtrack of original synthwave from Andreas Hald. If you have never tried the series before, Raw Fury has claimed that this is the perfect entry for newcomers to learn the ropes, but that doesn’t mean it’s just a copy or dumbed down.

If you are looking for a challenge, you can definitely get one from the new Survival Mixtapes Mode. Pressing play on the mixtape in the pause menu, a pretty cool way to start a game, will drag you into a world of unending waves as the Greed relentlessly bangs on your walls. You will fall, but how many days can you last for?

Kingdom Eighties will release October 18th on the App Store and Google Play.
