The Battlerealm is in chaos, and it is up to the Midnight Sons to investigate what lurks in the shadows as Champions of the Damned kicks off Marvel: Contest of Champions’ October. Recruit yourself two new characters as Werewolf By Night arrives October 12th, with Morbius following October 26th.
Best known for their universally panned movie which launched a thousand memes, Dr Michael Morbius was once a renowned scientist who, in an attempt to cure his rare blood disease, injected himself with a bunch of science, and warped himself into a vicious pseudo-Vampire. He must now fight a losing battle to contain his bloodlust.
Using his claws and some impressive aerial acrobatics, Morbius launches a relentless assault on his foes, throwing in some vampiric bites to drain their life force. To finish the show, he locks eyes with his opponent, hypnotising them before rushing at his defenceless target and delivering the final bite. Morbius pulls off quite the flowing-looking combo before delivering a rather substantial finishing blow.
Werewolf By Night, presumably named as such to distinguish from all of those we see during the day, has had two hosts, with this iteration being the subtly named Jack Russell. On his 16th birthday, Jack inherited the lycanthropy curse and began his struggle with his lupine alter-ego. Over time, he learned to accept the beast within and gained the ability to transform at will.
In battle, Jack fully gives in to his wolf persona, unleashing fearsome combos with his claws and teeth, and that is about it. Even his ultimate is getting slightly bigger, capturing his opponent in his jaws, and then ragdolling them about a bit. He has quite a straightforward moveset, but at least most of it looks particularly vicious.
